The UK's Most Relevant Spirit Brands on Social

The Spirit industry is reported to be worth more than £13billion in the UK and over the last 18 months spirit brands have seen a boom in retail sales.

According to recent Kantar data the pandemic led to a 30% growth in sales for spirits across the UK as the category outperformed wine and cider in terms of growth lagging just marginally behind beer sales. Spirits now account for 30% of all beer, wine and spirit sales (BWS) in the UK growing its shopper base by more than a million UK consumers.

We wanted to assess which brands in the spirits category where winning on social and who is shot or two behind the rest! Our insights team set to work crunching the numbers of the last few months, looking at the most popular spirit brands, according to YouGov polling, and assessing their performance on social media. Our relevancy ranking has thrown up some surprising results with plenty of movers and shakers amongst the top UK brands.
